CEMENT RETARDER: Cementing additives used to increase the setting time of cement. They are specialty cementing slurry additives used to increase the thickening time of cement slurries to enable proper placement and are applicable for primary and secondary cementing jobs. They are compatible with all API classes of cement and can be used in fresh water, salt water, and sea water cement slurries.

Applications – Retarders manufactured by GDFCL are specially designed to display rapid transition time and control the setting time of cement slurries used in oil well cementing applications. They control thickening time without affecting the final compressive strength of the cement and are effective over a wide range of bottomhole circulating temperatures.

They have good dispersing and fluid loss properties. They are used as cement grinding aids that can also increase the specific surface area and compressive strength of the cement and generate high stability and low sensitivity throughout the temperature range.
