Gel cross-linker is a hydraulic fracturing fluid additive that helps create a gel-like substance that helps carry proppants (usually sand or ceramic particles) into fractures in the rock formation being fractured. The gel serves as a carrier fluid that suspends and transports the proppants deep into the fractures, where they prop open the fissures, allowing oil or natural gas to flow more freely to the wellbore. Crosslinker is the additive that is added to the gel to initiate the crosslinking process to build up the viscosity and increase the carrying capacity of the fracturing fluid.
Essentially, GDFCL provides both borate crosslinkers and zirconium crosslinkers, which are chemically modified to provide compatibility with other fracking fluids, increased crosslinking efficiency, high stability gel structure, improved viscosity control, and suspension carrying capacity.
